The practices described in this statement apply to information gathered through our online games Elite Dangerous and/or Planet Coaster (collectively or individually the 'Game') and our websites www.elitedangerous.com and/or www.planetcoaster.com (collectively or individually the 'Site') and do not necessarily reflect our practices with respect to information gathered off-line.
The Website is operated by Frontier Developments plc ('Frontier', 'we', or 'us') on behalf of its US distributor Frontier Developments Inc..
We comply with data protection legislation such as the Data Protection Act 1998. This regulates the processing of personal data relating to you and grants you various rights in respect of your personal data.
The aim of this statement is to tell you how we will use any personal data you provide through the Site. Please read it carefully before you proceed.
2. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
We collect the Personal Information and GamePlay Information (collectively, “User Data”) that you provide when you create an account on the Site, download or register to use the Game or the Site, play the Game online, post material to the Site including short audio clips, comment on our public forums or message boards, send direct messages to other players while playing online, or request or purchase other services from us. This User Data may include, without limitation, your:
- Personal Information: name, address, phone number, age, date of birth, email address, credit card number, or any other information that may be used to identify an individual; and
- GamePlay Information: gameplay data including your gaming service ID, Game achievements, Game scores and performance, IP address, MAC address or other device ID, other device use information, or other information and statistics regarding your usage of the Game, which may be collected while you are offline and transmitted to us when you next connect to the Internet.
On the Site, you may wish to participate in contests and other promotions that we may offer from time to time. Through these promotions, you may choose to participate in activities such as sharing information found on the Site. In connection with any contests and other promotions that we may offer from time to time via the Site, we use the information you provide to administer the contests and other promotions. Subject to applicable contractual or legal restrictions, we also may use the information to communicate with you about our products and services. If you choose to participate in these promotions, and are eligible to do so, we may ask you for certain Personal Information.
We also collect information, including Gameplay Information, on the pages of the Site which you visit, including IP addresses, the type of browser you use and the times you access the Site. We generally use this information in aggregated form to track overall usage statistics related to different portions of the Site. The Gameplay Information in aggregated form is not used to identify you; however, we may match your Gameplay Information with your Personal Information in order to communicate directly with you regarding your use of the Site, provide individual support, provide refunds, terminate or limit your access to the Site if you have cheated or otherwise violated the Site’s Conditions of Use or otherwise improve your user experience in relation to the Site. Frontier may monitor the websites and pages you visit on the Site, in order to determine what Frontier services or components of the Game are the most popular among Frontier’s customers or users. This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area.
Any Personal Information you provide to Frontier when applying for a career position with our company will be used solely to consider and act upon your application. Frontier may retain your Personal Information for a period of time, but only for as long as necessary for such purposes.
3. HOW WILL INFORMATION ABOUT YOU BE USED AND SHARED?
When you visit our Site to browse or play the Game, you may choose certain on-line options such as (i) obtaining information about Frontier or the Game; (ii) contacting Frontier; or (iii) request or purchase the Game or other services from us. When you engage in any of the foregoing activities, or use any other features or services of the Site, you may provide us certain Personal Information. We collect and store this Personal Information, any updates to such Personal Information that you send us, and any modifications that we make to such information. Except as set forth in this Policy, we will not reveal any such Personal Information to any other third party without your consent, except that we may share your Personal Information with our business associates or service providers who assist us in administering our services or the Site. Except as set forth in this Policy, we will not use, disclose, or transfer your Personal Information unless:
- you expressly authorize us to do so;
- it is necessary to allow our service providers or agents to provide services for us;
- it is necessary in order to provide our products and services to you (and contacting you when necessary) or otherwise personalize your experience of the Site;
- we are sending you other information that may be useful to you or otherwise communicating with you;

- it is necessary in connection with other business purposes including, without limitation, verifying your identity, age and details of your payment method or credit card amount, investigating complaints about the Site, gathering management information to form statistical and trend analysis, customer care, service quality, business management and operation, risk assessment, security, fraud and crime and/or terrorism prevention/detection, monitoring, research and analysis, marketing, customer purchasing preferences and trends and dispute resolution;
- ) it is necessary to comply with law enforcement, governmental mandate, or other legal requirement, if appropriate, for your protection or in connection with an investigation or prosecution of possible unlawful activity;
- it is necessary for us to provide it to our attorneys, accountants, regulators, auditors or other advisors.

Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose Personal Information through the Site or the Game, this information may be collected and used by others.
Any information, communications, or material of any type or nature that you submit to the Site by posting, messaging, uploading, downloading, or otherwise (collectively, a “Submission”), is done at your own risk and without any expectation of privacy. We cannot control the actions of other users of the Site and we are therefore not responsible for any content or Submissions contained on the Site. By visiting any of our pages that are contained on the Site, you are representing and warranting to us that you have reviewed the applicable Policy and that you will abide by all such provisions contained therein.
Additionally, we offer message boards, voice communication features, and other interactive or social-type features on the Site. Please be aware that these areas may allow you to publicly post, and share with other users, certain messages, content, or other information. Although we may take certain precautions to protect those who use these areas of the Site, we encourage you to be wary of giving out any Personal Information, or any Personal Information of others to which you may have access, in such public forums. The information you post or disclose can be collected and used by people you don't know to identify you or others. Frontier cannot guarantee the privacy and safety of these areas and is therefore not responsible for any information you choose to post. Your use of these features is fully at your own risk.
4. TRANSFER OF YOUR INFORMATION OUTSIDE THE US
The Site operates on servers located in the United States. If you are located in the European Union, Canada, or elsewhere outside of the United States, please be aware that information we collect may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By providing us with any information, you consent to this transfer, processing and storage of your information in the United States, a jurisdiction in which the privacy laws may not be as comprehensive as those in the country where you reside and/or are a citizen.
5. MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS
We may send you emails or other communications with promotional offers only if you opt-in to receiving such communications. If you would no longer like to receive notice of such special event information, promotional offers, sales notifications or other messages from us, please contact Frontier at email@example.com or follow the "Unsubscribe" instructions on received communications. Your contact information will be removed from our marketing list. Please allow us a reasonable period of time in order to satisfy your request, as some promotions may already be in process.

Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential in order to enable you to move around the website and use its features. Without these cookies, services you have asked for such as remembering your login details or shopping basket items cannot be provided.

6.2 Use of Web Beacons.
Some of our Web pages may contain electronic images known as Web beacons (sometimes known as clear gifs) that allow us to count users who have visited these pages. Web beacons collect only limited information which including a cookie number, time and date of a page view, and a description of the page on which the Web beacon resides. We may also carry web beacons placed by third party advertisers. These beacons do not carry any personally identifiable information and are only used to track the effectiveness of a particular campaign.
We respect the privacy of children and encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in managing their children's online activities. Frontier will never ask for or knowingly collect information from children. We are strongly committed to preserving online privacy for all of our Site users, including children. Consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we will not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Furthermore, we may restrict entries to any contests or promotions to entrants who are at least 18 years of age.
If a child under the age of 13 has provided Personal Information on the Site without the consent of his or her parent or guardian, we ask that a parent or guardian send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will delete the child’s Personal Information from our files.
The Site contains links to other websites over which we have no control. As such, Frontier has no responsibility or liability for the actions or policies of such third party sites or pages, nor does Frontier endorse any product or service that may be mentioned or offered in such sites. We are not responsible for privacy policies or practices of other websites to which you choose to link from this Site. We encourage users to review the privacy policies of those other websites so you can understand how they collect, use and share your information.
Security is a top priority at Frontier. When you submit Personal Information to Frontier, your Personal Information is protected both online and offline. We restrict access to your Personal Information at our Site to those persons and in the situations described in Section 3 or others who need to know the Personal Information to provide services to you or in the course of conducting our normal business operations. We maintain appropriate physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect Personal Information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure. Therefore, while we strive to use generally acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
11. UPDATING YOUR INFORMATION
You may review your Personal Information collected and stored by us and may ask us to change or update this information. If you would like to review your Personal Information, you may access your account through the Site and may make changes to your Personal Information there. To access your account profile, please click ‘My Account’ at store.elitedangerous.com and enter your log in credentials. From here you can make changes to your personal information.
13. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS
Under California Law, California residents have the right to request in writing from businesses with whom they have an established business relationship, (a) a list of the categories of personal information, such as name, e-mail, and mailing address, and the type of services provided to the customer, that a business has disclosed to third parties (including affiliates that are separate legal entities) during the immediately preceding calendar year for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes and (b) the name and address of all such third parties. To request the above information, please email us using email@example.com with a reference to the California Disclosure Information.
Additionally, California law requires that we indicate whether we honor “Do Not Track” settings in your browser concerning targeted advertising. “Do Not Track” is a standard that is currently under development. As it is not yet finalized, we adhere to the standards set out in this Policy and do not monitor or follow any Do Not Track browser requests.

Frontier will use commercially reasonable efforts to promptly determine and remedy the problem. Frontier will keep a copy of your message until Frontier has had an opportunity to address your concerns. Frontier may archive your message for a certain period of time or discard it, but your email or mailing address will not be used for any other purpose.
